in the holiday spirit…already!

Due to busy weekends filled with activities, visiting the beautiful city of Grand Forks, ND in two weeks, Thanksgiving coming soon and too much fun with friends, I am already thinking about the winter holiday season. Plus there is the fact that I just plain love this time of year!

Our very merry cocktail party takes place in early December which really isn’t very far away and we’re hosting our family for Christmas. Throw in a trip to Florida for Making Things Happen 2010 and the holidays will be here before we know it. I’m trying to be on top of everything and add many DIY elements this year. Judge all you want, but I’m going to begin shopping for and setting up Christmas decor this weekend! I know for most it’s way too early, but for me, it’s just right.

This year I’m going for simple, elegant, beautiful! I have used blues, silvers and whites the past few years, so this year we are switching to a more traditional palette of red, white and silver with some greenery along the way.

I’d love to hang these off of our light fixtures for extra sparkle.

I love the winter wonderland look of this bedroom. I want to translate this into fireplace decor. I plan to spray paint tree branches silver and add glitter. I will place branches in vases throughout our house to give it that wonderland look and feel.

And last but not least, I am obsessed with the look of these chairs. I’m so inspired right now that I’m ready to run to the Christmas aisles of every store while most people complain that it’s too soon for this decor to be out.
