our 4th of July weekend

We filled our 4th of July weekend with friends, family, food and lots of fun! While there were many highlights of the weekend beginning with our first night out with friends without Bodhi and my first champagne experience post-baby at Urban Eatery, I wanted to share a few images of two fabulous gatherings.

The first was at the home of our friend Cathy who is a lovely host. It had all the makings of a perfect summer party—delicious food, wonderful refreshing beverages, great details and of course, good friends! Enjoy the photos!

Fresh blackberry mojitos, “individual freedom cakes,” refreshing citrus mint water and shortcake were just a few of the highlights.

Cathy (right) and her sister Jessica in their festive summer dresses!

Party number two was at a pool at the home of my friend Lisa (My Inner Fashionlogue blog) in Uptown, an active part of Minneapolis filled with great restaurants, shopping and lakes! With fewer party details, this gathering was focused on tasty food (one of my friends makes homemade dressing when she does salads and her blueberry dressing was to die for!), relaxation, cute kidlets and great conversation.

From top left clockwise: The salad=Amazing!, Bodhi and I in the pool (his first time), adorable Miles—son of Lisa, Lisa and Miles hanging outside, Bodhi relaxing, Friends enjoying conversation!

So, that’s it! We had a lovely weekend! I’m off for a walk with a friend and her new little boy and then need a nap. Bodhi decided three total hours was good enough for us last night. Of course, he is sound asleep as I write this. How did you spend your 4th of July?
